Hello dear email subscribers!
Today I'm sending a quick email because it's been a crazy week AND it's taco night. We've got a picnic roast simmering in the crock pot about to turn into some carnitas. We've got all the toppings, including homemade sour cream (My current obsession is fermenting everything...ask me about the bubbly drink I made out of old sourdough bread), and our first TOMATOES of the season! They told me I couldn't do it. They told me I'd fail. They told me it was impossible to get a vine-ripened tomato in this climate. No just kidding, no one told me that, but I was told it would be hard. We've got a basket full of gold cherry tomatoes. I can't wait until we have enough to bring to market. We do have a new item this week, so check out the harvest list below!
This week's harvest: | Sugar snap peas, head lettuce, carrots, Hakurei turnips, kale, collards, Swiss chard, spinach, tat soi, salad mix, zucchini, yellow squash, and green beans! |
---|---|
Where you can get it: | Port Angeles Farmers Market Transit Center, Saturday 10-2 |
What's on deck: | Fingers crossed, loads of tomatoes! |
I hope to see you at the market tomorrow! It is my favorite part of the week, getting our fresh veggies into your hands!
All of the best from Hidden Penny Farm,
Melissa and co.
