Hey friends of Hidden Penny!
Summertime! Is everyone else starting to dream about cucumber and tomato salad? Or, like me, are you starting to have nightmares about drowning in zucchini? Just kidding, just kidding. I'm welcoming summer over here with arms wide open! Have you driven by the farm or stopped at the farmstand only to find me twirling blissfully around in the fields, belting "The fields are alive with the sounds of summmmerrrr!" just like Julie Andrews? Just kidding again. If you are to spot me in the fields these days, I'm probably chasing cabbage moths around trying to squash them before they lay any more eggs on our brassicas. It probably looks cute, like I'm chasing butterflies. Really, I'm on a murderous rampage. Okay, okay. Just kidding for the LAST time.
Before I tell you the bounty of a harvest we've got this week I must tell you that next week we will NOT be opening the online store and we will NOT be at the farmers market. That is the week of August 1-7. And the market we are missing is the one on Saturday, August 7th. It is the day of our betrothal, and although Andy tried to convince me we should go to the market dressed in our wedding attire because it would be "cute and fun", I will not. I will be getting my hair done and drinking mimosas. The next time you get a Hidden Penny Farm email it will be from a married woman, so speak now or forever hold your peace!
