"But if you cultivate a healthy poverty and simplicity, so that finding a penny will literally make your day, then, since the world is in fact planted in pennies, you have with your poverty bought a lifetime of days."

-- Annie Dillard, Pilgrim at Tinker Creek

A penny, the least valuable coin, is so often overlooked, just as simple and commonplace beauty in the world often goes unseen. At Hidden Penny Farm we believe in fine-tuning our senses in order to find the “hidden pennies” that surround us. The world is filled with an abundance of ordinary wonders if you take the time to look! As farmers we are witnesses everyday: A seedling, its shoulders barely visible as it pushes its way to the light. The rich and heavy smell of compost. The music of song birds. The clink of glasses, scraping of plates, and conversations shared by friends over a fine farm dinner.

We love good food and believe everyone deserves to eat it. We care deeply about our soil and being good stewards to the land. And at the end of the day it is the simple beauties, the hidden pennies, that keep us in this work. We hope that by sharing our food with you, you will see them too.
